Seat Leon facelift – New engine generation and better infotainment

Seat is slightly revising its compact car. The Seat Leon will receive a new generation of engines as well as practical innovations in the interior.

The Spanish manufacturer announces a slight update for its compact car, with the main attractions being a new generation of engines and an update for the infotainment.

Seat Leon facelift 2024: New engine generation

There are seven different drive options to choose from for the Seat Leon. The entry-level model is the new 1.5 l TSI engine with 116 hp and 220 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission. Above this are two mild hybrids with 115 hp or 150 hp, which have a 7-speed DSG transmission. At the heart of the facelift, however, is the next generation of the plug-in hybrid with 204 hp and 305 Nm of torque. The 1.5 l TSI engine delivers 150 hp and is supported by an electric motor with 115 hp. The battery with a capacity of 19.7 kWh enables a purely electric range of more than 100 kilometres. The battery is charged with up to 50 kW.

In the future, the Seat Leon can be equipped with matrix LED headlights for an extra charge, thus providing better illumination. Otherwise, there are new things, especially in the interior of the Seat Leon. Seat is enlarging the screens of the infotainment system to 10.4 inches in contrast to the previous 8.25 inches. The improvement of the HMI (Human Machine Interface) interfaces in the digital cockpit and infotainment is intended to modernize the Leon and make the system more responsive.

In addition, the touch sliders are now illuminated to improve operation, especially at night. Also included in the innovations is the possibility to charge smartphones inductively. The Seat Leon offers 15 watts of charging power for mobile devices.
